2016 Victory Cross Country

 

Every time I ride a Victory I get asked many questions about the bike from many admirers. The age group of the Victory ogglers range from toddlers to seniors. I often find myself answering the same question; "How do you like the Victory?”  I should make a recording saying this with my best tough-guy face. "Victory makes 'Damn Good Bikes”.  They come standard with a 106 cubic inch Freedom Twin engine. The other guys come with a 103. More power with less vibration is what you get with any Victory." She loves the open road and she packs plenty of power in the higher gears.  You really notice after a long ride no tingling and numbness from vibration of the engine. Victory has the biggest floor-boards in the business which adds that extra level of comfort and a high capacity gas tank that holds 5.8 gallons.  

 

And as for looks, the Victory wins hands down with its sexy futuristic lines, combined with classic styling and deep flaked paint. It's a Gentleman's bike. Fine touches that include self-canceling turn-signals lets you know Victory means business. The bikes are made in the Good ol' USA.  Victory is owned by Polaris; bringing years of experience building great 'fun-machines' on board.  The sound of the engine is unique but smooth. The stock pipes are quiet but have a nice growl when you punch it while passing a slow moving vehicle. Dare to be different, don't follow others; let them follow you. 

 

Built for the city or open road the Victory Cross Country has an electronic accessory connection in the saddlebags for your phone or IPod. The short windshield lets you fell the breeze. You can listen to your own playlist or tune into Pandora. Victory baggers boasts the largest storage capacity in the world; a full 41 gallons space. The 760 lbs seem to melt away along with all your worries as you cruise the coast highway jamming your top 10 hits.  Your "Love Affair" with your new Victory begins when you finally hit the open road. Wait until you take the Victory to the "Twisties" in the Canyons. It is hard to stop smiling while not scraping the pegs as you lean into the curves. The super bright headlamp really lights up the road ahead during night drives. I was caught out in the rain and the ABS; which comes standard on the Red model; gave me sure-footed confidence on the slick Los Angeles streets. The extra padded seat will comfortably get you down the road. You have to hit the road to really appreciate the Victory. If you want to be treated like a celebrity upon your every arrival; try one on for size. You will see!
