BMW F800 GT
BMW F800GT
Adventure meets the Urban Jungle
At first glance this expensive looking sport bike is “Hot”. Upon boarding this technologically designed masterpiece you notice the riding position is ideal for touring or maneuvering thru the cities many obstacles, traffic and potholes. The F800GT is extremely agile. I felt at any moment I could avoid danger by jumping on the sidewalk or going off road to avoid stopped traffic with little or no effort. The bike performs like your favorite BMX bicycle you had when you were a kid. The F800GT is a mere 470lbs. A moderate 2 cylinder engine the surprisingly will whip you into highway speeds. All 90 horses seem to kick in 5th gear. Belt driven, the bike may not win out of the gate but it is very powerful and extremely stable at 90+mph.
Elegantly styled the Light White F800GT caught the attention of many onlookers. This bike should be renamed “Nice Bike Dude”. The gas tank holds 4.0 gallons and gets and whopping 69+mpg. So use the ample storage space in the detachable saddlebags to claim your next adventure ride or mountain playground run. If you pop off the saddlebags you will know that you just brought the best play toy in the yard. This bike loves the canyons. It comes with ABS and ESA (Electronic Suspension Control) that is accessed with the touch of a button. Included are all the fine touches that you would expect from BMW, Brembo Brakes, self canceling turn-signals and hand-warmers. The dash is computerized and gives the outside temperature, MPG rate, lap timers and more. Also there are a choice of seat versions to choose from, standard, comfort and extra low. That makes the F800GT totally adaptable for any rider. Color choices are Dark Graphite, and Valencia Orange.
After getting confident I could hit the ‘Twistys’ without hitting the brakes at all. The seating position is just right for peering around those blind canyon corners and high enough to look over traffic and plan your escape route. Have you ever had a “Giggle” moment after an exhilarating downhill run or that dangerous “let’s do that again” moment? The F800GT delivers that feeling every time I arrived at back to the house. It’s an all around bike. Whether you are headed to work or play the bike passes flying colors.
